Cincinnati Poker Open Kicks Off with $1M Opener at JACK Casino
The 2018 Cincinnati Poker Open kicks off March 1 with a $350 buy-in, $250,000 guaranteed Kickoff event at JACK Casino. The series runs through March 11 and includes eight separate events and multiple satellite events. JACK is backing more than $1 million in guaranteed prize pools for the series.
After the $25K guaranteed opener comes a second $25K event, a $200 buy-in Turbo No-Limit Hold’em event on Sunday. Event #3 in the series is just for seniors and also has a $25K guarantee. On Tuesday, the buy-in jumps to $500 for the $100,000 guaranteed event #5, followed by the $50,000 guaranteed Pot-Limit Omaha Event starting on Wednesday.
Jacks Cincinnati Poker Tournaments
The $1,000 buy-in JACK Poker Open Main Event begins on Friday, March 9 and offers a $500,000 guarantee. There are multiple satellite events providing a seat at the Main Event starting March 8 and running through March 10, before the start time of Day 1B.

Various satellites run from the morning of March 1, offering opportunities to enter events in the series for as low as $45. Chad Barnhill, the general manager of Jack Cincinnati, said the structure and buy-ins of the events in the Cincinnati Poker Open were designed to appeal to all levels of poker players.
Barnhill emphasized the property’s drive to create a poker tournament that appealed to all poker fans in the region and said he can’t wait to see who wins the Main Event.
Last year the JACK Poker Open attracted 666 entries to build a total prize pool of just under $600,000. It was won by Rudy Cadenas for $114,678.
